TOWTRUCK ROUND UP
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will conduct tow company and tow truck inspections for Cameron, Hidalgo, Kenedy, Willacy and Starr Counties on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For Tow Truck Inspections, please bring:
1. Tow Operator’s license
2. Drug tests - Bring results of drug tests (pre-employment, annual, random)
3. Cab Card
4. Proof of Liability Insurance
Equipment that will be inspected includes:
- Legible manufacturer’s data plate, or document from manufacturer, stating the capacity of boom, winch or carry mechanism.
- Winch in good condition (must not exceed capacity of boom, or leak oil)
- Hydraulic lines free of leaks and in good condition
- Cables meeting manufacturer’s specifications and in good condition
TDLR’s Field Inspectors will also be available to perform tow company inspections on the same date at the same location. If you would like TDLR staff to also conduct an inspection of your tow company, please bring the following items to the inspection site:
- Proof of Insurance
- Drug Consent forms
- Company’s License
Incident Management (IM) and Private Property (PP) Tow companies - Please bring copies of 10 Tow tickets and all records that are associated with these tickets for March 2011; 10 Tow tickets and all records that are associated with these tickets for October 2012; and 10 Tow tickets and all records that are associated with these tickets for March 2013.
To set up an inspection or if you need additional information, please contact one of the Inspectors listed below prior to April 28th. This Inspection will satisfy the Required bi-ennial Inspection.
Note: If your last inspection was done in March, 2011 or before, you can also participate in the round up inspection.
